Friends Gather To Remember Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on North Avenue

Dozens of friends gathered Saturday night for a memorial ride down North Avenue to the spot where their friend 26-year-old Nicholas J. Jacobson was killed.

Jacobson was attempting to make a left-hand turn when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. It happened Thursday night at the intersection of I-70 B and North Avenue in Grand Junction.

4 People Rescued from Colorado River Near Grand Junction

Water rescue teams were able to locate and rescue four people after they became stuck in some tree branches near the 29 Road Bridge Saturday afternoon.  This was the second rescue operation in the river near Grand Junction Saturday afternoon. Officials say the river is still very dangerous right now and that if you do venture into the water, to make sure to have the proper gear.

Pilot Killed in Durango Glider Crash

A glider crashes onto a golf course in Durango and the pilot is killed.
The two-seat glider crashed Friday afternoon between the first hole and the driving range on the Glacier Club golf course.
La Plata County Sherrif's Office says no one on the ground was injured.

Witnesses reported the glider had been at low altitude, banked hard right and narrowly missed a home before landing.
No word yet on the name of the victim.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the accident.

Betty Ford Dead at Age 93

Betty Ford, the widow of late President Gerald Ford and a co-founder of an eponymous addiction center in California, has died at the age of 93, according to the director of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
Ford died Friday evening with family at her bedside, according to a family member.

Headed downtown for the Thursday night farmers market on Mainstreet in Grand Junction. My question is how much of the fresh fruits and veggies are actually grown here in the valley? Who is making money from this and where is all of that profit going?
